TypeDash
Find your rhythm.
Type the passage. Clear the rooftops. Come back for one more race.
Pick your race
- Quick Play
- Join a race at your pace. We look for players for about five seconds, then fill open seats with bots before the countdown.
- Daily Challenge
- One shared passage each UTC day. Race against bots, set your best time and choose whether to appear on the Keyboard or Touch leaderboard.
- Race with friends
- Choose the passage settings, share your room and race with up to six players. The host starts when everyone is ready and can fill empty seats with bots.
- Solo Practice
- Warm up on the classic passage against a simulated ghost at your chosen pace.
Words move you forward
Type each word exactly, then press Space. Correct mistakes with Backspace before moving on. The final word finishes your run without an extra space. Capitals and punctuation count when they are included in the passage.
Quick Play uses stories, facts and dialogue. Keyboard races include capitals and punctuation; Touch races use lowercase without punctuation. Your input choice is in Settings.
Read your result
WPM means words per minute, counting five characters as one word. Accuracy reflects correct insertion attempts, including mistakes you later corrected. Your result and history still count when you race bots. Bots can place on the podium, but never enter the leaderboard or contribute to your competitive rating.
Keyboard and touch records stay separate. Live race times use the shared room clock; practice and recorded-ghost runs use your device’s clock.
Bring someone along
After a finished run saves, choose Challenge a friend. They race a recording of your progress on the exact same passage. Your original opponent does not join them. Share Daily score invites them to that day’s Daily; a private-room invite brings them into a live lobby.
You choose the public name on your shared links. Manage and revoke those links in My runs.
Playing on a phone?
Tap the race button to open your keyboard. If you dismiss it, tap the passage to keep typing—the clock keeps running. For smoother graphics, choose Balanced, Light or 2D. Larger typing text and Reduced motion are in Settings.
If the connection drops, follow the reconnect message. Wait for any retry countdown before trying again. Your accepted progress is restored when the room is still available.
Your data
Settings › Privacy & data turns product analytics and error reports off or on, and can ask us to delete your analytics data. The game works the same either way. Analytics never include what you type, your display name or your links.
