Both games turn typing a passage into a race. TypeRacer offers live quote-based races, solo practice and private racetracks. TypeDash puts a runner on a rooftop course, with 3D and 2D views, live rooms and challenges against a friend’s recorded run.
The reason to try TypeDash is the feel of its race and the way you can challenge friends—not a claim that multiplayer or private races are new.

When TypeRacer may be the better fit
Stay with TypeRacer if its quote collection, themed universes and established race format are what you enjoy. There is no need to replace a tool you already like; TypeDash offers another way to play.
